Hey Y’all Hey!Kijan ou Ye! How are you doing?
Recently I had a conversation with a friend and was asked since becoming a mother, what’s the one thing that motherhood has taught me? And WOW! I thought to myself this is such a thought provoking question. I mean it definitely isn’t a one word or one sentence answer right! It’s a multi-level question and it made me pause for a long time to think about it.
My simple answer would be everything!

Being a mom is such a wonderful journey so let’s dive right in as I share with you 5 things that motherhood has taught me so far.
Forever Mom Guilt
I’ve learned that mom guilt comes with the territory and it will never go away. However it’s normal to have mom guilt. As moms we all go through it. We don’t give ourselves credit and we tend to harp on our mistakes more than anything else.
I was meant for this
I realize that being a mom is one of my greatest blessings in human form. I love seeing his beautiful smile every morning and night, hearing him laugh and coo and relishing in these sweet moments is life changing.

Trust my instincts
It’s good to learn from other mothers but at the end of the day, do what’s best for you. We all parent differently, for example some choose not to co-sleep and have a strict routine while others love to co-sleep and have more of a loose routine. So basically, stop listening to others and do what is best for you and your child.
Indulge in Self-Care
I’ve learned it’s quite alright to indulge in self-care. After all if I’m not at my best or somewhat best physically and mentally how can I parent at my best. Taking time out to just sit in quiet, have lazy times and pamper yourself is needed to be the best parent you can be.
No such thing as balance
Giving up the quest to find balance is over. It’s okay if you don’t get everything on your to-do list done.

Being a mother is literally the hardest role I’ve ever had but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
Happy Mother’s Day to all you mother’s out there! Mother’s, Step-Moms, Bonus Mom, Godmother’s, Aunts, Care-Givers! Every single one of us are doing the best we can for our children.
Until the next post…

Awesome 👍🏻
Thank you for sharing this! I’m about to be a new mom in two weeks and it’s great to read about the positive experiences that come out of it. Happy Mother’s Day!
Happy Mother’s Day!
I would have to agree. Motherhood taught me all of those things, especially there is no balance, self-care and there is mom guilt. Glad I am not alone!
Motherhood truly is awesome and educating. I’ve learnt quite a number of things. The most important one being it has helped me to discover a lot about myself. I’ll say you never fully know who you are until you become a mother.
Happy mother’s day. I want to say all moms are educating everyday throughout the life. You are doing your best!
I’m not a mom, but this gives me so much more appreciation for my own mother. Thank you for sharing and it seems like you’re doing an awesome job being a mom!
Haha no such thing as balance you say? Don’t scare off all the new mamas!
