Five Ways to Get Out of a Funk

Hey Y’all Hey! Kijan ou Ye! How are you doing?

Are you in a funk?

Have you ever been in a funk for no reason?

How long does your funky mood last?

We all go through moments where we are just in a funk. At times there is no reason behind it. But most times we find ourselves in a funk by thinking of where we want to be and frustrated by all the steps we have to take to get there.

I’m here to tell you that I too get in these funky moods. And when I feel like that, I know that I need to let my inner fierce roar! If you are looking to get out of your funk and stop yourself from spiraling into further sadness then keep on reading.

SO….

I’ve come up with five things that have helped me get out of my funk and to continue being present and enjoying life.

Five Ways to Get Out of a Funk

Talk it out

When I’m in a funk, talking it out will tremendously help me get in a better mood. Talking it out helps me to open up my eyes on the situation and determine what actions I need to change the situation. If I may need to change my disposition, etc. I usually call my sister to vent, if you have someone close to you that you can call to vent to and have them give you sound feedback and not just give you the okie dokie. We need someone that can be real with us because sometimes our funk is on us.

Unplug

When I say unplug, I mean turn everything off! No phone calls, no social media, no TV! If you can, turn your inner voice off as well. Mediating helps you get in a better mood.

I love to sit in silence even for a few minutes to clear my head.

Do Something Fun

Get up and move! Do a silly dance in the mirror and laugh at yourself.

Take a Mini Getaway

Listen taking a mini getaway and getting away from your day to day life is the perfect way to get out of your funk. Sometimes we just need a change of scenery to make things better.

Listen to Gospel Music

If all else fails, listening to gospel music always lifts up my spirits. I don’t know about you but I love to worship. Let it go and give it to God, cast all your worries on him.

I hope this helps give you an idea on how to get out of a funk. I know that the holidays are coming up and it’s not always a happy time for everyone, so hopefully one of these ideas can help you get out of a funk.

Until the next post…

Thank you for your post! I loved your outfit btw. The color scheme really suits your beautiful complexion. I tend to keep my frustrations in my head because I don’t want to burden anyone, but that’s only hurting me and adding to my funk at times. This is something for me to work on! Much love.

Great tips, really on point for me right now. And fire look as always!

  10. I always call my sister to vent! I love all of these. Uplugging is one I do constantly. Sometimes I just like to get away from all of the chaos and do my own thing. Then when I am feeling back to normal, I’ll go back to my regular routine.
