Mask On, Mask Off

To wear a mask or not…that is the question

Hey Y’all Hey! Kijan ou Ye! How are you doing?

Let’s talk you guys…

How do you feel about the mask mandated being lifted for vaccinated folks?

According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.

Whew! That was a mouth full but you can read all about it on the CDC website.

SO, will you be wearing a mask or not?

I’m not sure where you all are located but here in New York since this news was released, folks have been without masks. I have seen people walking around not wearing mask even on mass transit. Now, the thing is how do we know if everyone that’s not wearing a mask are vaccinated?

I will not be discussing whether or not you should get vaccinated. In my opinion, that’s a personal choice for everyone to make for themselves and family. This post is strictly about MASK.

I know that in certain states mask were not mandated. But here in New York, I’ve been wearing a mask since March 2020 and although I hate wearing them, I’m hesitant in being without a mask.

I don’t know about you but I will be keeping my mask on until further notice. If I don’t personally know you then I’ll be wearing a mask. In general, I find people to be just plain ole nasty pre covid LOL hence why I’ll be masked up.

And while we are on the topic of mask, can we also talk about social distancing?? I for one, still need my personal space. We need to normalize giving people space and not being on top of each other. I ride mass transit and let me tell you people are starting to rub elbows with strangers again (sitting next to each other) and I’m not ready for it. I believe we need to normalize giving each other space. It’s just the polite thing to do.

Hope you enjoyed my mini rant!

I definitely enjoyed this mini rant. I’m in the area as well and it’s been interesting to see this sudden shift. However, they wouldn’t make such a groundbreaking announcement without taking into consideration that not everyone lives by the honor system. To me it was an indirect way of saying this is almost over.

I am fully vaccinated since Feb but have been keeping my mask on and will do so. I want to model what I believe in and will follow the social distancing too whenever possible

  5. I totally agree with you. It is a choice whether or not to wear your mask or take it off. But for me and my family, even with the vaccines, we wear our masks on for the sake of my children. We still practice social distancing and avoid crowded gatherings. I can still wait until we can peacefully put my mask down.

I live in England and we still have to wear masks in shops and public transport regardless whether we have been vaccinated or not. I feel so used to wearing one now I will feel strange not wearing one.

  8. Totally agree with you. I work in retail, and customers have been inconsiderate before the mandate was lifted. I don’t trust people to be honest, plus the CDC still recommends that people wear masks indoors when not with people they know.

I have been enjoying the extra space everyone seems to give you! No longer have people breathing down my neck has been great. Love your style with your mask matching!

Honestly, I still feel safer with the mask. It’s going to take some time I think for all of us to re-program our minds.

Yes, totally with you on this! Masks still on! And personal space on the subway, too!!

We will be wearing our masks and distancing from people who are not.

  13. I wonder if wearing a mask has been what has kept me from getting a cold. I loved not getting sick this year.

  14. I honestly think that I will be wearing my mask for the next few months until I feel completely comfortable going out without it, even though I am vaccinated.
