Now that your all caught up with how I feel about snap back culture, let’s talk about my weight loss journey.

Pre pregnancy I was 168lbs.

Let’s go back to 2013 where my weight loss journey began.

Back in 2013, I weighed the highest I’ve ever been which was 200lbs. During that time, I used weight watchers to help me begin eating healthy and I started using Beachbody workout programs to get my body moving. Using those two programs helped me get my body and health in shape. I fluctuated between 140 and 150 pounds. When I found out I was pregnant, I was just about to start a rigorous routine to get my body how I wanted it to be but now it had to be put on pause.

I started pregnancy at 168 pounds and I gave birth at 208 pounds. At my six weeks postpartum checkup which was actually at seven weeks I weighed in at 188 pounds. Now I know I’m not the only one who has heard the myth that breastfeeding would aide in losing weight but uumm that was not and is not my experience. I was breastfeeding since from day one and it hasn’t helped me in losing weight at all. In fact, breastfeeding makes me hungry.

I made up my mind to begin this weight loss journey in August by cleansing my body and mind. I completed a 5-day juice cleanse! Whew! It was so hard to complete especially since I am still breastfeeding but I did it and no my milk production did not decrease. I started the juice cleanse to refresh and recharge my body to start anew with my healthy lifestyle. I weighed in at 181 pounds and ended at 175 pounds.

I knew from past experience that in order to start and maintain a weight loss/healthy lifestyle journey I needed to cleanse my body. Now that I completed the juice cleanse which I’m looking to do again next month but this time it will be the 3-day juice cleanse. The main reason why I want to do the juice cleanse again is because if I’m honest, I eat healthy about 85-90% of the time but I’m such a sucka for ice cream and cookies.

After completing the cleanse, I was introduced to Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies by Goli Nutrition and I absolutely love them. Not only do they taste good but it has totally increased my energy and ACV helps maintain my weight and suppresses my appetite.

I’m now beginning to incorporate workouts into my routine. I know for me I need to eat healthy and exercise if I want to see any real results. I came across this fitness YouTube channel MrandMrsMuscle and I love their workouts. Being a mom, having a 9-5 and working on my blog I only have about 20-30 minutes to spare so finding workouts that I enjoy and are effective is a major plus and add free on top of that as well.

Here are some YouTube channels I found that I intermix to create a routine for myself:

So, I’ll check back with you all in two months to give you an update on how this journey is going and to hold myself accountable. It’s easy to start something but being consistent with it is the most difficult part. And I definitely want to be consistent with this lifestyle. For one, I have a child to live for and for two I want to look good per my standards and no one else’s.

Workout because you love your body, not because you hate it! Let’s love our bodies at every stage and remind ourselves that our weight loss/healthy lifestyle journey is a personal one.

Get fit, have fun
