Self-Care During Quarantine

Hey Y’all Hey! Kijan Ou Ye! How You Doing?

Self-Care isn’t selfish!

What does your self-care look like?

It’s key that you take time for yourself.

During these stressful and uncertain times, many of us are at home all day with our families, home-schooling children and living a life that is so new to us all.

Looking after ourselves both physically and mentally is so important at a time like this to keep us resilient, calm and able to cope with the days to come. It’s also important to maintain healthy habits and a great way to do that is with maintaining your self-care.

Unfortunately for me these past few weeks I have been slacking on my self-care and I’ve become physically and mentally drained. I’ve been waiting for things to get back to normal, but I’m finally coming to the realization that normal will probably never come again. SO instead of waiting I’m here to say no more slacking!

I finally got out of my funky mood and decided I needed to start creating a healthy habit to maintain my sanity.

Here are some things I’ve been doing to maintain my self-care and I hope at least one of these can you help you as well if you are physically and mentally drained.

Spa days

Outside is closed! Now is the time to have at home spa days…facials, manicures, pedicures…you name it. We all have the tools at home, so why don’t you take this time to get your spa on. I don’t know about you but sitting at home with my robe while I have my feet soaking with a mask on and applying my press on nails have become so relaxing. By the way, check out my post about How To Do Your Nails At Home to see how my nails are always glam.

Sleep

Sleep…Sleep…Sleep!!! No more to say but to get your rest!

Watch TV

I have been enjoying my movie nights and catching up on old/new shows. Yes I’ve seen the memes where they say during this time we should be productive, however if you don’t want to then turn on your TV and enjoy.

Go for a Walk in YOUR Neighborhood

We have been on lock down for some weeks now but we do need our dose of Vitamin D. So go for a walk around your neighborhood and practice social distancing as well as wear your mask. The fresh air is totally needed.

Exercise and Eat Well

I’ve found that exercising at least twice a week and eating somewhat healthy has been good for me. Now when I say somewhat healthy, I mean I do eat my vegetables but a girl loves her Ice Cream and cookies. Don’t judge me about my ice cream, OK?

Everyone reacts differently to stressful situations. This is how I am maintaining my physical and mental health.

Let me know how you are practicing self-care during quarantine.

Until the next post…

  1. The one who said that self-care is selfish never values himself or herself. Self-care is prioritizing ourselves first before we can take care of other people. 🙂 Nice article. and thanks for sharing these tips!

I guess this quarantine will allow people to do the things they always wanted to do but never had the time. Also, I too believe that self care is really important. Nice tips.

I love these tips. My favorite is the spa day. I’ve personally been using these days to take baths, wear masks, do my nails and hair. I feel fabulous after!
