Hey Y’all Hey! Kijan ou Ye!
This year I’m bringing back my Self Care Sunday segments sharing with you all what I’m currently doing to keeping my soul happy.

If you read my last post, I shared how I’ll be leaning on faith more this year. One of the ways I’ve been doing that is beginning my day with prayer and meditation to ensure I have a peaceful day. Being at peace is my goal.
In the past, I’ve let people and things affect my entire day but I’m here to say NO MORE. I will not allow anyone/anything to steal my joy and control my emotions…that includes not allowing the MTA to mess up my entire day for making me late. If you live in NYC you understand what I mean.
One thing I have control over is how I react to situations. By starting my day with prayer and mediation will definitely bring me the peace I need.
I’ve been using the following to guide me into prayer and meditation:
I love using the Bible App to lead me into prayer. I get to start my day with a verse of the day and I also love reading a devotional…currently I’m reading the ‘New Year, New Mercies’ devotional.
After prayer, I go straight into meditating. For meditating, the Abide App has really helped me in centering myself. Meditation is a practice that has helped me to focus my mind and truly become more of a peaceful person.
It is not often that we truly take time to reflect on the things in life that makes our soul happy. I encourage you all to take that time today and everyday
Signing out,
Windy
I’m so excited that you’re bringing back self-care segments. This will be a wonderful help for so many people out there, myself included.
Thank you for sharing this. It’s so important to take care of yourself. Self-care is going to be a HOT topic this year, I’m betting!
I also start and end my day with prayer. It does help me get through my day when I know I have the guidance of God. I don’t have any other self care routine except this.
I love that you are bringing back the self care Sundays. I can’t wait for the others.
Self care is so important! I’ve made it a huge point to take time out for myself and make sure I’m ok mentally and physically
Great article. Self care is something we all need to do and we have to do more often. Our bodies need much more attention than ever. I will definitely try your App suggestion for meditation 🙂
Oh I love that you also start with prayer. Me too. I love to invite God to speak to me and to hear from Him.
